The Phoenix Chapter of ASG is conducting a contest among the neighborhood groups, to see who can sew the most community service projects. What??! You say you're not a member of a neighborhood group? Well, that's fine, because you can still help your local group and support community service projects at the same time. The neighborhood group that makes the most service projects will win a luncheon for the participating group members. Here is how it works:

Time Period - April 1, 2008 - March 31, 2009

Eligibility - Only members of the groups, who actually participated and produced a community service item, will be eligible for the luncheon. Non-group members may contribute to their chosen neighborhood group but they will not be eligible for the luncheon, such as, I have two nap quilts I want to give to the North Phoenix group; my quilts will count in the tally but I cannot attend the luncheon if North Phoenix is the winner because I am not a member of the group.

Projects - Only those projects "officially sanctioned" by the Phoenix ASG Board will be considered. Those projects are designated below. We know there are many people who make and contribute to other outside causes and we think that is wonderful. This contest will only be to benefit our chosen charities. All items must meet certain quality standards, i.e. a pillowcase with stains on it will not be accepted.

Points:
Nap quilts (approx. 36" x 45") - 50 pts
Stockings - 20 pts
Fidget quilts (approx 16" x 16" and no bigger than 20" x 20") - 25 pts
Pillow cases - 25 pts
Preemie gowns - 20 pts
Anti-ouch pouches - 20 pts
Drawstring bags for CPS - 20 pts
Power Paws embroidered items - 10 pts for blanks that are supplied by Power Paws, 15 pts for blanks supplied by members
Walker bags - 20 pts

If you are not a member of a group, you may turn your completed project in to a neighborhood group leader or to any CAB member. The group leaders need to present the items to the community service chair/committee in order to obtain the points. Check the Neighberhood Groups page at www.phoenixasg.org to see how your group is doing. For the running tally vist our Score Board, this will allow all members to track how each group is doing.

Thank you for participating
