Spring Mixer Workshop
Class 1: Strippy Scrap Jacket
This “work of art” is made using a basic box
jacket pattern. The pattern is a Brensan Studio pattern # BSS102. You will need to buy this pattern in advance. This is an easy jacket
sewn onto a muslin base. You will design a one-of-a-kind jacket to wear for casual, work, or dressing up. This is a good way to useall those fabulous pieces of leftover fabric. Once you have made one you will want to make many more.
You will need to come to class
with the muslin underlining cut-out and ready to sew on. Follow the
directions under step #2 “preparing the Underlining.”
All skill
levels. You will need: Sewing machine, basic sewing kit, and surge protector.
Mix and Match Half - Day Classes
Class
2: No Pattern Wrap Skirt Phyllis Rettke
This skirt needs no pattern! Using fabric with drape, such as a rayon, you will make a skirt in a matter of hours! The skirt width is your hip measurement plus 16 inches. The length of the skirt is the length you desire plus 3 inches. If you can find wide rayon or other “drapey” fabric, you can use the width of the fabric for the width of the skirt and purchase the length you need. If not you will use the length of your fabric as the width of your skirt. We start with a rectangle, press, topstitch, sew a pocket, elastic, and there you have it - a completed skirt! This is a very attractive skirt that wears well, and definitely does not look “homemade.”
All skill levels. You will need: Sewing machine,
basic sewing kit, and surge
protector.
